KITTIE Frontwoman: 'We Have Not Broken Up'

May 11, 2005

KITTIE frontwoman Morgan Lander has shot down rumors that the group has broken following the recent departure of guitarist Lisa Marx and bassist Jennifer Arroyo and the band's split with longtime label Artemis Records. In a posting on the KITTIE's official web site, Morgan wrote, "I just wanted to clear a few things up regarding the band's situation, as I have been getting numerous emails about what is going on with the band, and certain rumors. CONTRARY TO THOSE RUMORS, KITTIE HAS NOT BROKEN UP...

"We will continue on regardless of our label and member situation...so look forward to more KITTIE news and music in the future!"

KITTIE were scheduled to enter Mole Studios in London, Ontario late last month to begin demoing material for their upcoming CD. Five songs were expected to be laid down during the session, according to a post on the group's web site.

KITTIE parted ways Artemis Records in March "due to a proposed amendment to the recording budget for the pending fourth KITTIE album," according to a post on the band's web site. The group have yet to announce replacemenets for Marx and Arroyo, who left the band earlier in the year. The band's most recent album, "Until the End", was released in July 2004.
